Conceived as an urban-scale performance device, the Cultural Road Stage Design explores how a temporary structure can read as both architecture and light instrument. The proposal treats the stage as a frame that amplifies the city’s atmosphere: a porous, layered scaffold that receives light, sound and motion, and returns them to the audience as a collective experience.
Rather than a singular façade, the system is organized as a kit-of-parts—trusses, vertical lattices and modular decks—allowing quick assembly, multiple stage layouts, and scalable footprints for different venues along the festival route. Materials and details are specified for rapid install / demount, safe circulation, and clean cable management, making the backstage choreography as legible and precise as the show itself.
The visual language references large-format touring architectures while remaining site-aware. Inspirations range from high-energy arena productions to adaptive runway structures; the emphasis is on clear sightlines, balanced acoustic baffles, and programmable light planes that can shift from intimate sets to stadium-scale performances.

Modular superstructure: repeatable bays and standardized connections for fast build / strike.
Layered light surfaces: translucent meshes + LED planes to create depth without heavy cladding.
Clean sightlines: stepped rigs, offset catwalks, and rear access to keep the proscenium open.
Scalable footprint: core stage + optional wings + technical spine for variable capacities.
Urban backdrop mode: frame can run “low-opacity” to foreground the city; or “full show mode” with media surfaces.
Safety & logistics: protected runs for power/data; clear performer paths; maintainable rigging logic.
