The Los Angeles Cinema Concept reimagines both the lobby and the main auditorium as immersive, spatial narratives that extend the cinematic experience beyond the screen.
The lobby acts as a dramatic prelude: a forest of illuminated vertical panels in vibrant tones, layered against reflective stone floors. Here, visitors are surrounded by shifting patterns of light, color, and shadow—an architectural prologue to the films they are about to experience.
The auditorium carries this language forward with a bold system of illuminated frames and linear light bands that outline the proscenium and side walls. These programmable elements can shift in intensity and color, transforming the atmosphere from intimate screenings to high-profile premieres.
Circulation and seating layouts were organized for clarity and inclusivity, ensuring optimal sightlines and acoustic balance. The design treats the cinema not only as a vessel for projection, but as a cultural venue in its own right—one where architecture, light, and storytelling converge.
