Retro Lunapark Büyükçekmece is conceived as a holistic experiential environment that brings together urban recreation and nostalgic amusement culture through contemporary landscape and public space design. The project is envisioned not merely as an amusement park, but as a public living environment defined by its waterfront setting, green spine, pedestrian flows, and social gathering spaces.
The central design idea is to reinterpret the atmosphere of traditional amusement parks through spatial memory and integrate it into contemporary urban life. Entertainment elements driven by color, light, and movement are balanced by natural landscape features, soft topography, and a strong relationship with water. This creates a rhythmic spatial transition between high-energy activity zones and calm recreational areas.

General layout of the Retro Lunapark Büyükçekmece project. Amusement units, circulation routes, landscape areas, and parking are organized to create an integrated public experience.
The spatial organization unfolds from a welcoming entrance axis and expands into multiple layers of experience. Retro-themed amusement units, open event spaces, relaxation areas, and thematic landscape islands are interconnected through a continuous circulation network. The waterfront promenade and bridge connections integrate the park with its surrounding context while establishing strong visual focal points.
The landscape design is conceived as a dynamic system that continuously renews the atmosphere of the public realm through natural plant textures and visible seasonal change. Open green areas, shaded gathering zones, and permeable surfaces support diverse patterns of use throughout the day and across different age groups.
Retro Lunapark Büyükçekmece approaches entertainment not merely as an activity, but as a spatial experience. Positioned at the intersection of memory, movement, and public life, the project aims to offer a layered urban experience for visitors of all ages.
